Aug 13: Will the Republican Party’s attack on Transgender Rights Ensure Its Future?

Over the past couple of years we have seen a lot of big changes in the Republican Party in the United States. During the end of Obama’s presidency and the beginning of Trump’s, we saw Republicans doing a lot to simply obstruct the Democratic Party as a tactic. Therefore, instead of the Democrats getting what they wanted done in government, things just stayed the same. After that things got more to a point where it seemed like Republicans were doing things to get a reactionary response from the Democrats to distract them from other matters. A lot of people thought that the attacks on women’s rights and LGBTQ+ rights were part of that along with appealing to specific populations to try to get votes, but I would argue that it probably goes further than that.
